THE art

My art is rooted in the rhythms and beauty of the natural world. Expansive, moody Midwestern skies, textured terrain, and the drama of shifting seasons are continual sources of inspiration. I am drawn to the interplay of texture, symmetry, and non-traditional materials—elements that mirror nature’s ability to be both chaotic and composed, wild and stilL. In an increasingly manufactured and distracting world, I aim to offer the viewer a place of peace and pause—a visual and mental respite.

I love experimenting with mixed media: acrylic paint, fountain ink pigments, watercolor, pastels, modeling paste, charcoal, and pencil. Through the fusion of these materials combined with traditional and contemporary approaches to landscape painting, I hope to inspire viewers to reconnect with nature, and to embrace and be grounded in the continual strength that it provides. Nature is an ever-present gift that offers us healing, perspective, and renewal.
